Buyer Beware: Isis Exchange

Nafretiri's picture

This is my advice....DON'T BUY FROM THEM!! I had one horrible experience! So here is my story:

I ordered a silver bra & belt set on April 19th. The item says about 6-7 weeks so I figured I had plenty of time to get it for a show on the 3rd of July. Boy, was I WRONG!! I tried calling them...what a waste. They didn't answer and it always went to voicemail, which they NEVER returned. I emailed them several times. It takes them awhile to reply to your questions. They kept telling me one or two more weeks. Needless to say, I was not a happy customer when 10 weeks rolled around. I had figured 8 weeks would have been ok but I didn't receive my item until 11 weeks!! So it finally gets here and I open the box to a shoddy crafted set. I could have sewn a set together better than this! There were strings hanging out here and there, beads on the fringe had fallen off, areas of beads hanging where they shouldn't be, and the seams not sewn together tight.

So after all of that I have just told you....you have been WARNED! If you must order from them give them many months in advance to allow yourself time to fix it when it arrives.

Zattana's Experience with Isis Exchange

The well-worn caveat "You get what you pay for" definitely applies to the Isis Exchange's bra/belt sets. The price of the set might be appealing (each set sells for around $100), but you must be prepared, as mentioned above, to repair a brand-new costume.

I wasn't expecting much for the price I paid and Isis Exchange lived up to that. My set also arrived with loose beadwork/threads, broken bead strands, and even a few small bald patches where the sequins had either fallen off or were never applied in the first place.

Nafretiri ordered her set to her measurements; I bought one in-stock. The set I received, though advertised to fit me, has more than a 7 inch overlap in both the belt and bra. I suppose at least I have plenty of extra beads for repairs, which is good, as this set sheds every time I perform in it!

Bottom line: Unless you are willing to wait the long lead time for a set that you will also have to spend some time refitting and even rebeading, you may want to look elsewhere for a bedlah.
